Katrina Kaif Signed On The dotted Line For Prakash Jha’s Satsung

Katrina Kaif and Prakash Jha are two of the popular names in Bollywood after their super hit film Raajneeti made a great impact with critics as well as the audiences. Thus with the director convinced about Katrina’s effective capability to deliver the right goods in such non glamorous roles, he has again got the star to sign on the dotted line for his upcoming project which is titled Satsung.

The film is going to be based on the multi-million religion based industry and will have a central character that will represent a real life woman who had changed the course of her life to become a religious leader.

Katrina Kaif who has the intensity and the looks to carry off the part to a perfect ‘T’ was already in the director’s mind ever since they started shooting for the political potboiler Raajneeti. However, this role is going to be more intense and will see Katrina in the saffron robe looking quite unglamorous woman, much more different than what she has been both on and off screen till date.

Reports are that the star was very confident of pulling the role well after having a detailed discussion with the director about it. Thus, the coming year will see a much different and matured Katrina than ever before! Not to forget sans make-up too!

Amitabh Bachchan Touched By Aamir Khan’s Surprise Visit

Bollywood ‘Shahenshah’ Amitabh Bachchan and perfectionist Aamir Khan has always admired each other and shares a very wonderful relation. The mutual respect between these two actors has brought them closer. Big B has always appreciated Aamir’s work and his mannerism but the duo has never acted together in any film.

Recently, Aamir gave Big B yet another reason to praise and feel good about him. Mr. Bachchan was shooting for a commercial at Mumbai’s Film City, which he inaugurated 30 years ago. He got nostalgic thinking about it and that is when Aamir dropped in to surprise Big B. He was remembering the memories of shooting on floor number one.

Later, Mr. Bachchan shared the experience and his feelings on his blog. He said that Aamir dropped on the sets in the middle of the shoot and they had wonderful chat as usual. This is a wonderful and amazing relation between these two superstars and the fans are dying to see them on screen together soon.

We hope the filmmakers will soon come with a wonderful script to bring the duo in one screen! The fans would love to see their off screen chemistry reflecting to onscreen.

Anushka's Triumphant Three Times For Yash Raj

First RAB NE BANA DI JODI, then BADMAASH COMPANY and now BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. Yes, you are absolutely on dot, these are lead actress Anushka Sharma's hat trick of successes for India's premier production venture Yash Raj Films.

Although Anushka has been refuting the news of a three film contract with Yash Raj and she cites Nikhil Advani's PATIALA HOUSE (which she claims to have signed even before BAND BAAJA BAARAAT) to substantiate her point, but as things stand today Anushka has indeed completed her three films with Yash Raj and that too very successfully.

All her above mentioned films will go down as profitable ventures for Yash Raj Films obviously with the blockbuster RAB NE BANA DI JODI being the most successful of them all, thanks to King Khan. Though Anushka was not credited much with the success of RAB NE..., despite a brilliant all round performance that too opposite SRK, yet there is no doubt that it's incredible success did help her become an instant hit with the mass and class (very much like what OSO did for Deepika and DABANGG has done for Sonakshi). This translated into a wonderful second innings via BADMAASH COMPANY and then came BAND BAAJA BAARAAT1, where Anushka was one of the only few known faces.

As we had been saying time and again, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT has indeed turned out to be the dark horse, and though it did open slow but it's positive word-of-mouth worked beautifully and the film has shown one of the best trending of 2010, as it has been good and steady even in its second week which means that the film indeed would turn out to be a successful venture for Yash Raj. The final outcome though is still awaited but all credit to Anushka for pulling this off and we are sure that after this Yash Raj (and especially Aditya who showed so much faith in her) would want her do more films for them, as was Anushka's wish. Here's wishing many more hat tricks for Anushka and Yash Raj Films, separately or as a team.

Fashion Magazine In Trouble After ‘Whitening’ Aishwarya Rai

Fashion magazine Elle is being accused of stirring up a race row following alleged digital lightening of Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai’s skin for the glamourous cover page.

The 37-year-old, who achieved global popularity after winning the Miss World crown in 1994 and following it up with films like ‘Bride -Prejudice’ and ‘The Pink Panther 2’, appears on the cover of this month’s Indian edition of the magazine.

Though Aishwarya looks picture perfect in a flowing gown and a stunning hairdo, readers started reacting with fury after it was suggested that the fashion magazine might have used digital technology to enhance her complexion, reports dailymail.co.uk. Inside the magazine, she is pictured in a series of shots with light skin.

However, fans have been posting angry comments online about the latest cover.

One comment read: ‘It’s -annoying because it seems like lighter skin is always in fashion as if darker skin is -something to be frowned upon.’

Colour discrimination is quite a sensitive issue in India, and it is often percieved that those with a lighter complexion are more successful and wealthy.

-This isn’t the first time that the magazine has been attacked for appearing to lighten the skin of its non-white models.

In September this year, Afro-American actress Gabourey Sidibe appeared on the cover of the US magazine with a much paler complexion than her usual.

Madhuri Dixit Busy In Commercial Ad

One of the finest actresses and dancers of bollywood Madhuri Dixit is in India and is as busy as any other bollywood mainstream top actress would be. Apart from shooting for a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa that airs on Sony, she is also reportedly shooting for an advertisement, the price of which is still undisclosed.

In January the actress has reportedly signed 3 new ad ventures and is also heard to be seen in a movie, according to manager Rikku Rakesh Nath. She is reportedly shooting for Hindustan Lever product that is finalized and for other the meetings are still on.

She is also considering acting offers from Sanjay Bhansali, Karan Johar, Yash Raj films and UTV. She has 4-5 good movie offers, says Nath her manager, and she will soon be finalizing one script. She is married to Sriram Nene a heart doctor based in the US, with 2 beautiful sons, who will be joining her for Christmas holidays.

Her magic on the reality show seems to be working as people have loved her on the show so far and are keen to see her in a movie.

Saif Ali Khan Credits Amitabh For His Bollywood Raid

Even though Saif Ali Khan is veteran actress Sharmila Tagore's son, the actor says he joined the Indian film industry chiefly because of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

The 40-year-old actor is all set to work with Amitabh in Prakash Jha's next 'Aarakshan'. This is the second time that both the actors will share screen space after the 2007 film 'Eklavya: The Royal Guard' 'I joined films pretty much because of Amitji so it's always an absolute honour to work with him and I'm glad I got another opportunity to get associated with him,' Saif told reporters here.

Big B too was elated to know about Saif's thoughts and revealed that he felt honoured after hearing what Saif had to say. 'I have worked with Saif in 'Eklavya', that was my first association with him. I am really honoured and privileged to know that he feels that I was in someway responsible for his entry into this film industry. I'm delighted to work with him again,' said the 68-year-old star.

Amitabh also remembered some of the moments that he spent with Saif.

'Today, I remember one of the very old moments. Saif was six-seven years old and he had visited my sets when I was shooting a song in Filmcity. Sharmila ji, his mother, said that he wanted to be with me and see the shooting.

'He was a very confused looking youngster then, who stood at the top of the hill, sitting on a rock all by himself and watching the shooting. From then on I have watched him grow so brilliantly to a fine actor with a lot of variety in every performance,' revealed the actor.

'Aarakshan' also stars Deepika Padukone, Prateik and Manoj Bajpayee and will go on floor Jan 15. It is based on policies of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

Vidya Balan In Ekta Kapoor's ‘Ragini MMS’

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is all set to play lead in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming venture ‘Ragini MMS’, which is based on the infamous MMS scandal in a prestigious Delhi based school, Zee News reported. According to a report on spicezee.com, apparently, Kangna Ranaut had been approached by Ekta Kapoor to play the lead role. “When the former showed uneasiness on hearing the explicit content of the film, Kangna Ranaut chickened out at the last minute. However, Ekta Kapoor was quick to find Kangna’s replacement in Vidya Balan,” the website reported.

The report further revealed that while talking to a daily, a source confirmed the news and said, “Kangna walked out of the film, perhaps because she had developed cold feet about the movie. This is a bold movie and it needs an actress who can do justice to a strong portrayal. Vidya can deliver such intense roles with confidence. She is anyway doing ‘Dirty Picture’, based on the life of Silk Smitha, with Ekta, and her company felt that she`s appropriate for the role. So, they've approached her.”

When contacted, the CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, said, “I don`t want to say anything at this stage. But the film is definitely on.” After playing the power-packed role of Sabrina Lal, sister of Jessica in ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and sex-siren Silk Smitha in ‘Dirty Picture’, it seems Vidya is keen on a serious image makeover and has become a hot favourite of Bollywood filmmakers, the website reported.

Kareena Enters Politics!

Ranbir and Katrina surprised everyone with strong portrayal of youngsters who were forced into politics under circumstances. Kareena Kapoor is all set to follow their footsteps. It has been heard that Farhan Akhtar has offered Bebo a lead role in Excel Entertainment’s political drama.

The very famous filmmaker Sudhir Mishra who got Kareena to act in Chameli has been roped in to direct this film. Will the critically acclaimed actress-director duo be able to create the Chameli magic again?

Sudhir Mishra has confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we have approached Kareena Kapoor for the next film, which will be produced by Farhan Akhtar known as Bhrub. I was planning a remake of Devdas but things didn’t work out as the script I was writing became something else. The script went on to become Bhrub. Bhrub is the name of the central character of the film around whom the complete movie will revolve. It is about a person who is the heir of a huge political family. Kareena will be playing the female protagonist. She has an equally important role in the film. About the male lead in this movie, we have few names in mind, but this will be finalized only when Farhan is free, post the shooting of Don 2. We will sit together and brainstorm.”

Sudhir continued saying, “Kareena completely broke free from the commercial films in Chameli and that is when people noticed her potential as an actor. I want to do that again as she has been exploited enough considering her talent as an actor.”

There are rumors of Abhay and Farhan doing the lead role, but who knows.

Aamir Khan On Katrina’s Wish List

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who will soon be seen in Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’, says she wants to act opposite Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan for her dream role.

‘It’s not one, I have three roles which I wish to do. First on the list is a period film, which are not made enough now. Second on my list is a romantic-tragedy – just like ‘Devdas’. And thirdly, I want to do an action film like ‘Salt’ or ‘Charlie’s Angels’,’ Katrina told reporters here at a press conference of the 56th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010.

When asked with whom she would want to team up, she said: ‘I want to team up with Aamir. In the last few films the way he has romanced on screen I loved it, specially in ‘Ghajini’.

The star-studded award night is slated to take place Jan 29.

Hrithik Roshan To Face His Wax Statue On January 20th

Madame Tussauds is soon going to welcome another Bollywood star among it's long list of wax statues and the latest one is none other than Bollywood’s ‘Greek God’ Hrithik Roshan. The museum has kept the pose and detailing about the statue secret until it is unveiled on January 20, 2011.

The grand launch of the statue will take place in London next year and Hrithik will face his wax figure. The sculptors at the museum are now giving the final touches to the Bollywood star’s wax figure. No one knows how Hrithik has posed or what he has worn for the statue. So, it will be a pleasant surprise for the Hrithik fans when the statue is unveiled.

However, Madame Tussauds has promised that it will be one of their most daring figures ever and it will not disappoint the fans of the Bollywood star.

So, is there any guesses about Hrithik’s pose? Till date, Hrithik has looked best at his films Krrish, Jodha Akbar, Dhoom 2 and recently released Guzaarish. If he poses in his Krrish look, then we can expect to see his superhero avatar, Jodha Akbar will give the historic look of the actor. If he poses like his Dhoom 2 look then it will be reflect the heroic mood in him and Guzaarish look will give him the feel of a wonderful magician.

In a poll conducted by London based weekly magazine Eastern Eye, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been voted the sexiest man in Asia, moving past other hunks from the Hindi film industry like Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. Responding in a statement to the media after being awarded with the title of the sexiest Asian man, Ranbir Kapoor said that he was overwhelmed by the fact that he has so many female followers around the world. Known to be a lady’s man, the actor said that if women stopped loving him, he would definitely start having doubts on himself!

Ever since he entered Bollywood filmdom, Ranbir Kapoor has been the subject of an affair with several leading actresses in the industry including Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and the most recent Katrina Kaif. Katrina Kaif Voted ''Sexiest Woman In The World'' Again

Angelic beauty Katrina Kaif has been named the Sexiest Woman in the World for the third consecutive year, beating all the other hotties to the title. Even after so many years, Katrina mania is still in full flow.

This damsel has topped London-based newspaper Eastern Eye's list of the hottest women in the world. Yes, she has been voted the sexiest woman in the world.

When asked what she had to say about it, Kats quipped,

"I am very happy that I have made it to the top of Eastern Eye's list again. England is of course a very special place to me and I think it’s very sweet to be voted the sexiest by them. I just want to thank everyone for the support."

Eastern Eye, a South Asian publication in the UK, conducted the poll. The list was calculated on the basis of the most photographed women in the world and the most in-demand with film producers and fans. Bollywood heroines dominated the top 10. The list also included beauty pageant winners, top actors from around the world, pop stars and TV personalities.

Priyanka Chopra narrowly missed out on the top spot by finishing second for the second year in a row. Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat came eighth, a spot behind Kareena Kapoor who came seventh.

Bipasha Basu occupied the third spot and Freida Pinto, India's most popular export to Hollywood, only managed a fourth position, while Lara Dutta rounded off the top five.

Sonam Kapoor On A Shopping Spree

Fashionista Sonam Kapoor, who has been shooting for Pankaj Kapoor's "Mausam" in Patiala, couldn’t help but go on a shopping spree.

"Last day in Patiala… bought beautiful mojris, patiala salwars, phulkari dupattas and parandas, great craftsmanship here…," Sonam posted on Twitter.

Though she sports a lot of high-end international labels, street shopping is also quite Sonam's cup of tea.

She laments that a lot of Indian crafts are taking a backseat.

"Local artisans are extremely talented. But a lot of the local crafts like phulkari embroidery are dying. It's really sad because their work is so fine and beautiful."

Deepika And Sonam Kept Out Of Ranbir's World Tour

Ranbir Kapoor's much awaited world tour which is to begin in July 2011 will be accompanied by Bollywood's five hot and sexy actresses. Actresses like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora Khan have already been finalized. Earlier Deepika and Sonam were also considered to be a part of the tour, but not anymore. Sonam has backed out citing the reason that she doesn’t have enough dancing numbers to perform on stage, whereas Deepika had expressed her eagerness to join the team. However, she has been intentionally kept out, knowing that Katrina wouldn’t be comfortable sharing the stage with her.

Papa Rishi Kapoor, who is also co-producing Ranbir's first world tour told a tabloid, "Deepika wanted to come along. We didn't want any stress behind the stage...We want it to go smoothly, no backstage jhik-jhik, please!"

Well, it may be recalled that Deepika and Sonam had made fun of Ranbir on Karan Johar’s TV show Koffee With Karan and this counting out of them from the world tour seems to be a requital.
